Parisian Chic: the Couture of Croissant

In June 2025 I took myself on a solo trip to Paris – the first 5 days of solitude in my 15 years of motherhood and what an incredible adventure it was.  I was extremely lucky to find a wonderful apartment to stay in with such kind and generous hosts who curated the most fantastically artistic breakfast spread each day – little did they know I was in a still life phase of painting!  As I sat alone at the long mahogany dining table I could not stop smiling to myself  – such a feast for my eyes, even before my tummy joined in.  I have so many photos of my breakfasts as they were Parisan chic on a table through and through.  A croissant on one plate, a mini baguette on another, a selection of fruit on a third.  I had heart-shaped butter and jam dishes – how could I not fall in love?  And so I painted my Parisian breakfast, with much gratitude to Cyrille and Nadine for looking after me so well.  I will be back. xx
