A Balance of Pears

Sometimes you just need the sun streaming through the window to notice the beauty in what’s in front of you – I always have at least one fruit bowl brimming with a selection of yumminess (not just so the kids can carry it to school and back!) and pears are up there in my top 5.  The yellow coffee pot was gifted to me by my lovely neighbour Aino and IS sunshine on the table.  After noticing this lovely little scene and painting it, I reflected that not only had I painted pears but pairs of each fruit in the bowl – each sitting in their couple –  hence the name “A Balance of Pears”.

The painting has enjoyed several layers of expressive work before deciding what it wanted to be, and I have left little windows into its journey around the picture.

It is acrylic on thin-edged canvas and measures 40 x 40 cm and is varnished and ready to hang.
