Peace in a Cup and the Smile of Silence

One warm spring afternoon, after a full day busy with kids activities, meal prep and just life in general, I made myself press pause. I filled my teapot, gifted myself the treat of using Great Aunt Eileen’s inherited fine bone china and snuck off down the garden with my new favourite tray.  I had a full vase of tulips on my outside table and when I sat outside my garden studio, feeling the gentle warm of the sun, sipping a cup of tea, marvelling at the way the sun made the tulips glow, I smiled at the beauty of the silence and the gratitude for 5 minutes peace.  It touched me so much that once refreshed and revived I plucked a canvas out the studio and started to paint.

The painting is 60x60cm acrylic on deep canvas and I am framing it in a white tray frame, ready to hang.
